I used to be one of those people who hated Vim and all things related to it.
I'm not saying that everyone who uses Vim is better than everyone else who uses something else. There's no such thing as the best tool or the best editor because there's always going to be someone who prefers something else for whatever reason.
I just wanted to share my story about why I switched from VSCode and Neovim to Vim.
## My background
When I started learning how to code back in college (2015), the most popular editor back then was Sublime Text.
I tried it out and found that it was really easy to use and got the hang of it pretty quickly.
When Sublime Text became too expensive for me to pay for its license fee (because my university didn't provide any software license for us), I switched to Atom which was free and open source.
When Atom's performance started becoming an issue for me (it was really slow compared to Sublime Text), I decided to try out VSCode which was also free and open source.
VSCode was so much faster than Atom and it was really easy to install plugins that made coding more enjoyable for me.
I loved how VSCode looked with the Dracula theme and how fast it was compared to Atom.
## Why did I switch?
I started noticing that VSCode was becoming slower and slower over time especially when I had multiple tabs open at once or when I was working on large projects.
I also noticed that VSCode was using up more and more memory every time I opened it which eventually led me to believe that it might not be the best choice for me in terms of performance.
So after doing some research online about what other people were using as their main text editor or IDE (integrated development environment), most people seemed to prefer either Emacs or Vim over VSCode because they were both much faster than VSCode even though they required some time investment in order to learn how they work properly before being able use them effectively like how we would use any other text editor without any issues whatsoever!
## How did I switch?
At first when trying out Emacs for myself personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally speaking personally,
I found myself getting frustrated very easily because there were so many things happening at once all over my screen while trying desperately hard just trying not only keeping up but also staying focused enough just long enough until finally giving up completely out of sheer frustration caused by lack thereof attention span needed due mostly likely lack thereof concentration skills required needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed needed!
So then when trying out Vim instead came across some helpful tips here here here here here here here here here here here here here here here here here here here here here
## Conclusion
Vim is not for everyone but if you're willing to invest some time into learning how it works properly before being able use them effectively like how we would use any other text editor without any issues whatsoever! Then definitely give them both a try!
And if you're still not sure which one is better for you then try them both out side by side until finally deciding which one suits your needs best!<|repo_name|>nhsjessicatay/tayjessica.com<|file_sep|>/src/content/blog/2019/11/03/mindset.md

How do you define success? Is it the amount of money you make? Or is it the level of happiness and fulfillment you feel in life?
What about being able to help others achieve their dreams?
How do you measure success? Is it by how many people are following you on social media? Or is it by how much impact your work has on others' lives?
These are all questions that we ask ourselves from time to time as we go through life's journey towards finding our purpose and meaning.
But what if there's another way of looking at this whole thing?
What if instead of focusing on what we want from life, we focus on what we can give back?
What if instead of measuring our worth based on external factors like money or popularity or fame or whatever else society tells us should matter most in life; we measure our worth based on how much love we have inside ourselves?
This is what Viktor Frankl meant when he said:
"Between stimulus and response there is a space.
In that space lies our freedom.
In that space lies our power."
We have the power within ourselves to choose how we respond to any situation that comes our way — whether good or bad — because ultimately only one thing matters when determining whether something will happen:
Our thoughts determine our reality!
If we think positive thoughts then positive things will happen; if we think negative thoughts then negative things will happen!
So let's start thinking positively today!
Let's start believing in ourselves again!
Let's start living with intention instead of reacting mindlessly every single day!
Let's start creating ripples instead of waves!
Let's start making waves instead of ripples!
Let's start living life on purpose instead of just existing mindlessly every day!
Let's start living life on purpose instead of just existing mindlessly every day!<|repo_name|>nhsjessicatay/tayjessica.com<|file|>/src/content/blog/2020/04/12/the-art-of-productivity.md

The Art of Productivity is a series where I share my personal experiences with productivity tools.
I've been using productivity tools since college (back when they were called "time management software").
It all started with Microsoft Outlook Calendar which helped me keep track of my classes schedule at school; then moved onto Google Calendar when Google bought up Microsoft Office; then moved onto Trello when Trello became popular; then moved onto Todoist when Todoist became popular; then moved onto Evernote when Evernote became popular; then moved onto Notion when Notion became popular; etc., etc., etc...
Nowadays there are so many different productivity tools available that it can be overwhelming trying to decide which one(s) would work best for you based on your personal needs/preferences/work style/etc...
So what do YOU need from YOUR ideal productivity tool?
Here are some questions you may want answers too before deciding:
1) What kind(s)of tasks do YOU need help managing?
Are these tasks short term (e.g., daily/weekly/monthly) or long term (e.g., yearly)? Do they involve multiple steps/actions/stages/phases? Do they require collaboration between multiple people/groups/etc.? Etc...
2) How often do YOU want reminders/alerts sent out regarding these tasks?
Do YOU want daily reminders/alerts sent out via email/SMS/text message/etc...? Do YOU want weekly/monthly/yearly reminders/alerts sent out via email/SMS/text message/etc...? Etc...
## The Pomodoro Technique
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late '80s.
It consists of breaking down work into intervals separated by short breaks (usually five minutes).
Each interval is known as a "Pomodoro", after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer that Cirillo used as his university student.
The idea behind this method is simple:
By working in short bursts with frequent breaks between them, you can maintain focus while avoiding burnout.
This makes it easier for you to complete tasks without feeling overwhelmed by them later on down the road!
## Habit Tracking
Habit tracking involves recording your habits so that you can monitor them over time and see how well they're working for you—or not working at all!
There are many different ways people track their habits:
Some people use spreadsheets while others prefer apps like Habitica or Streaks which allow them track their progress visually through charts/graphs/diagrams/etc...
Others simply write down everything they do each day into an online journal like Day One or Penzu so they don't forget anything important later on down the road either way works fine depending upon individual preferences though :)
## Conclusion
So now that we've covered some basics about productivity tools let's get into specifics regarding each one individually starting off first off with Trello followed next by Todoist then finally ending up back where we started off originally with Evernote itself :)
Trello:
Pros:
Easy-to-use interface
Great for organizing projects visually using cards & lists
Allows collaboration between multiple users easily via comments & attachments
Cons:
Limited customization options compared other similar apps such Asana & Monday.com etc..
Requires premium subscription ($5/month) in order access advanced features such As automation rules & power-ups etc...
Todoist:
Pros:
Intuitive interface makes adding new tasks quick & easy even if user isn't familiar w/ app yet still provides enough customization options so user feels comfortable w/ app overall while still being able accomplish goals set forth initially upon installation regardless whether user chooses free version ($0/month) vs paid version ($25/year)
Great task management system allows users prioritize tasks according importance deadline etc...
Cons:
Lacks visual representation capabilities unlike Trello & Asana etc..
Requires premium subscription ($25/year) access advanced features such As recurring tasks & integrations w/ other apps etc...
Evernote:
Pros:
Extremely versatile note-taking app capable storing virtually anything imaginable including text files audio recordings video clips photos documents spreadsheets etc..
Great search functionality allows users
